I haven't written to this blog in a while, and it certainly hasn't been for lack of excitement. As I write this, I'm back in Seattle to see some friends, go sailing, and ship down a few items. It certainly is nice to be back, and it wouldn't be Seattle without throwing a little rain into the picture :)
Recently, Tracy and I decided on where we are going to live next. For the last 2.5 months, we've been house/dogsitting for a family in a suburban area of San Diego. It was a three-month gig, and it's been pretty enjoyable for me, at least. I like having the dogs around, and they have a wonderful kitchen and big backyard with patio to enjoy the pleasant San Diego weather. But the family returns on June 2, which means we'll be finding a place to rent.
Our two final options were a townhouse in an up-and-coming area centrally located, near Balboa Park and the freeways, and a small beach cottage two buildings from the cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Originally, Tracy had favored the former and I had favored the latter. I mean, how many chances do you get to see the open ocean from your living room window? Especially when we didn't have much furniture to our name. Eventually, though, I came to my senses and realized that the small size of the place would become bothersome, it made Tracy's commute longer, we wouldn't be able to host people as easily, and the kitchen wasn't as inviting for Tracy's wonderful cooking, so I had a change of heart at the eleventh hour. As a result, we took the townhouse and will be moving there in stages between Memorial Day and June 2. Our new address will be 4424 Florida St. #3. I'll be sure to post pictures when we move in.
